Emma qualified from the British School of Osteopathy in 1996 and joined the Colin Dove Practice where she worked for Colin Dove for 4 years before taking a role as partner within the practice when Colin Dove retired from this role.
Emma has completed several courses in cranial osteopathy and is partway through training to become a member of the Sutherland Cranial College.
For the last eight years, Emma has been active in undergraduate teaching. She has both tutored and examined students at Oxford Brookes University, the London School of Osteopathy and the British School of Osteopathy. In 2005, she completed a post graduate certificate in Academic Practice to further develop her skill as a teaching osteopath. As part of her teaching at the British School of Osteopathy, she runs an outreach clinic at a homeless day centre near London Bridge. This involves taking students from the college each week to treat people who attend the centre. A large number of these patients are homeless or living in hostels etc and many have mental illness or problems with substance or alcohol abuse. Emma enjoys the many challenges associated with creating a learning environment for the trainee osteopaths within this unique clinical setting.
Emma enjoys treating a wide range of patients in at the Colin Dove Practice from young babies who come in for post natal check-ups or colic to the elderly who may attend for problems relating to degenerative changes, adapting her techniques when necessary for those who have mobility difficulties. Emma particularly enjoys the challenge of treating those who see us as a last resort.
Emma is a member of The British Osteopathic Association and the Higher Education Academy.
